Year 10 Work Experience
A work experience placement is a short-term opportunity for pupils to gain practical work place experience, developing professional skills in a real work environment, performing tasks similar to employees with support of a mentor or manager. Year 10 pupils are offered the opportunity to take part in a self-sourced work experience placement, usually during the penultimate week of the summer term. Check with your head of year for confirmation of dates.
Although school may be able to source a small number of placements, pupils are responsible for finding their placement employer. We recommend that pupils try to secure a placement early. Any pupil who does not find a placement will be provided with alternative in school careers activities to support skills development.
