The Zoom Under 16 travel pass helps young people under 16 to travel around South Yorkshire for less (single fare of 80p per journey) and online applications are now open.

Bereavement Support

 

We all experience loss at some point in our lives and whether we are children or adults, there is support out there.  We have created this page to help signpost you to resources and support that you may find useful on your journey and experience of grief and loss.

 

Someone To Talk To

National

  • Cruse Bereavement Care – national helpline offering emotional support. Mon-Fri 9.30-5pm. Open until 8pm on Tues, Weds, Thurs. 0808 808 1677
  • NHS Bereavement Helpline – offering advice, guidance and practical support. Mon-Fri 8am-8pm. 0800 2600 400
  • Sue Ryder – Up to six free online sessions of bereavement counselling.
  • Grief Chat – offers a helpline and professional bereavement counselling (n.b there is a cost to these therapeutic services).


Local to Sheffield

  • Listening Ear – telephone helpline providing support, advice and guidance to anyone over the age of 11 who is registered with a GP in Rotherham and is bereaved during the Covid-19 crisis. Mon-Fri 10am-5pm. 0800 048 5224. To find out more about Listening Ear you can watch this video about accessing the helpline and this video about being a helpline professional.
  • Sheffield Cruse – 1-1 bereavement support. Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. 0114 249 3328
  • The Ripple Effect (Sheffield Mind)  bereavement ‘navigation service’ designed to enable people to access emotional and practical support after the loss of a loved one.

Free School Meals - Holiday Voucher Scheme

 

Food vouchers will be sent to the following groups to help over the holidays:

• Families who claim income based Free School Meals
• Families who get income assessed Early Years Support
• Young people leaving their care setting (Care Leavers)

The letter will contain your 16 digit e-code.

Then please follow these instructions:

1. Enter your unique 16-digit eCode
2. Select your chosen supermarket(s) and check out
3. Your eGift cards will arrive by email within 24 hours. Please check your junk or spam folder if you cannot find it

 Please note codes need to be activated within 3 months or they will be cancelled. Once they have claimed their voucher on the Edenred website the voucher will be valid for 12 months.

• The FSM Voucher helpline will be available on 0114 2734567, option 4, option3, and can offer help to parents experiencing difficulties with their e-Codes or with general FSM enquiries.
