Wellbeing

Our wellbeing approach provides the tools, skills and insights needed to help children become more emotionally resilient 

Grounded in established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development our approach draws on a wealth of experience in social work, psychotherapy, and education to: 

  • Help with anxiety 
  • Help with emotional wellbeing 
  • Help to build self confidence 
  • Look at positive ways to manage emotions.
  • Help to manage behaviours in a calm manner.

As a result of implementing our wellbeing approach, children and young people are better placed to engage with their learning and with life.

Our comprehensive approach to whole-school wellbeing incorporates various proactive measures to identify and address the needs of our students, ensuring a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

 

Key components of our strategy include: 

Early Identification Protocols:

  • Continuous monitoring of behaviour and attendance reports.
  • Teacher referrals
  • Referrals discussed and made by outside agencies during individuals meetings

Continuous Professional Development:

  • Regular staff training sessions focus on refining nurturing skills.
  • Emphasis on evidence-informed strategies to cultivate resilience within classrooms.

Targeted Group Interventions:

  • Structured group sessions addressing esteem-building, anger management, grief, behaviour management, and fostering positive relationships.

Specialized 1:1 Wellbeing Support:

  • Wellbeing leads offer personalized support to students grappling with more complex issues.

Behaviour and Welfare Team Support:

  • Collaborative efforts with the Behaviour and Welfare team to instil positive behaviour for effective learning skills.
