Remote Learning Information and Resources

Moving into the summer term under lockdown, we have reviewed our remote learning offer and now plan to put in place a personalised online system to help further improve home learning for our young people in Years 7-10. This will enable your child to develop retrieval practices as well as new learning and receive timely and effective feedback from teachers to maintain motivation and engagement. Yewlands Academy has adopted the online Moodle platform for the organisation of home learning and a ‘quick start guide’ has been created to support pupils and parents/carers in the use of this platform.

Teaching staff will provide ‘lessons’ weekly for pupils to access on Moodle. Lessons will include:

• Lesson PDF / PowerPoints
• Any necessary supporting resources
• An independent learning activity/assignment that can be submitted for feedback to the individual teacher

GCSEPod provides high quality teaching and learning digital resources across the curriculum and can support your child’s remote learning. All pupils in Y7-Y11 have an account registered on GCSEPod and they have to activate this before first use. At activation, pupils can set a password hint and input a Password Reset Email address. This can be their personal email address and allows them to generate a password reset email to themselves.

Please encourage your child to download the GCSEPod app from their app store and access the work that is set.
