Weekly News Letter

Thank you for your understanding during the inclement weather. Even though the worst seems over, the pavements and roads will remain icy and I fully understand that you may want your child to come to school in footwear suitable for the conditions.

We would, however, ask that they bring their school shoes in their bags to change into whilst at school.

Year 11 students received their mock results last Tuesday afternoon and the Parents’ Evening for this year group has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 6 March 2018 from 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm. If you have a child in Year 11, it is important that you attend and have an opportunity to speak to your child’s teachers and discuss their progress.

The following Tuesday, 13 March 2018 the Year 10 Parents’ Evening will be taking place from 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm. If you have a child in Year 10 it is important that you attend as your child’s subject teachers will be available to discuss on a one to one basis your child’s progress, including discussion with your child’s English teacher in preparation for their English Literature Mock Exam after the Easter holidays.

World Book Day was held on Thursday 1 March 2018, but unfortunately fell victim to the weather conditions. To ensure that students in Years 7, 8 and 9 do not miss out on the opportunity, world book tokens have now been distributed so that they can purchase one of the ten free titles from local stores or for an additional £1.50 one of a selection of five novels. Alternatively the £1.00 token can be used against any novel or audio book priced £2.99 or above. The tokens are valid up until Sunday 25 March 2018.

Thank you once again for your understanding this week.

Yours sincerely

Simon Winslow
